Now in 2007 he is running his own new brand called After-Dark at the Warehouse/C103 venue in Plymouth. I'm very happy to be playing for this event as it is one of the few events in the south west of England left booking new and interesting DJs on the trance/tech-trance end of things. On this night I will be playing alongside Ronald van Gelderen who has risen to high ranks in the scene with a large number of big releases on labels like High-Contrast and Ferry Corsten's Purple-Eye labels. Also playing the night is Tom himself and Damien James.

Posted 20/06/2006 // Fun Lovin' Criminals x 2 Dates August 22nd & 23rd Augu In August I will be performing two nights in a row with The Fun Lovin' Criminals at Barracuda in Newquay. Much like G. Love & Special Sauce, the New York trio known as Fun Lovin' Criminals hit the alternative airwaves with a blend of hip-hop beats, alternative style, and bluesy rhythms. The group was formed in 1993 by bassist Fast and drummer Steve, who had met in Syracuse while going to school; the pair formed a techno group but later moved back to New York City, where they hooked up with vocalist/guitarist Huey. FLC played around the area, and released their self-titled debut album in 1995 on the Silver Spotlight label. Signed to Capitol the following year, the group gained an alternative radio hit with their single "Scooby Snacks," from Come Find Yourself. In 1997, the band played stateside dates as U2's opening act on their Popmart tour.
Eighteen months later, FLC returned with 100% Colombian, their first for Virgin. "Love Unlimited" and "Korean Bodega" were red-hot hits across Europe and moderate favorites at college radio in the States, but FLC failed to gain critical acclaim in their native country. Trouble was brewing, for 1999 was a year of major changes for the Fun Lovin' Criminals. Founding drummer Steve-O left the band in February and was replaced by ex-Bad Brains/Cro-Mags Mackie Jayson. The B-side collection Mimosa appeared, and the Loco LP, but FLC parted ways with EMI soon after. The label then issued the compilation Bag of Hits without their permission. The Criminals landed on Sanctuary for Welcome to Poppy's, which appeared in September 2003, and they returned two years later with Livin' in the City. ~ John Bush & MacKenzie Wilson, All Music Guide
20/06/2006 // Newquay Summer Residency It’s just been confirmed that I will be a resident for XS Promotions in Newquay this summer. Every Thursday throughout July & August I will be playing the Miss Pole Dance 2006 competition. Along with two other special events the Miss Beach Babe 2006 competition and the Amsterdam Sex Festival Tour. Not quite sure what to expect but I’m sure it will be mayhem either way. This will be my second season in Newquay and after this success of last year I’m really looking forward to it. Barracuda is one of my favourite clubs to play and to be playing there through this summer is something I am very happy about. Please check the schedule pages for full dates.

20/05/2006 // FHM High Street Honeys Tour On June 10th I will play the official FHM High Street Honeys Tour at Barracuda in Newquay. FHM is probably the most famous glamour model outlet in the UK. The magazine runs an annual FHM High Street Honeys competition to find new models. This is a similar competition to the Page 3 Idol, Maxims Little Black Book competitions and is a way for would be glamour models to get noticed. Previous winners of FHM High Street Honeys such as Kayleigh Pearson in 2003, Natalie Pike in 2004, Hayley Parsons in 2005 have been extremely successful models both in FHM and other glamour magazines such as Maxim, Zoo and Nuts. Arrive early for this one.
10/05/2006 // Dance Academy Closed Down Unfortunately the Plymouth based nightclub Dance Academy was raided on the weekend just past. The club has been closed for at least 3 months. In the meantime the Dance Academy's main night Eyecon will be moved to another local venue The Cooperage. Personally I see this a very sad loss for the UK Clubbing scene. A running theme across the UK right now is mass police raids on 'rave' clubs including a recent big raid at one of the biggest Hard Dance clubs in London 'The Fridge'. It seems police policy now is to close down clubs and get the little people rather then tackling the bigger problem and getting to the real source, if the police we're so concerned about Drug problems in the Dance Academy why we're they never seen outside and around the venue like they are by the dozen outside commercial clubs in the city, due to the large number of fights and drunken fools within. All the 'problems' in this club exist in every other club across the country. The real victims here are the staff of Dance Academy who have worked so hard to make this one of the South West's biggest and strongest clubs, and also the clubbers who now in one of the countries main city’s have lost it's biggest club.
Personally I will be doing everything I can to support Eyecon at it's new venue and I hope others will do the same, however Plymouth City Council wanted this venue for there redevelopment of Plymouth so it is very apparent that this was a raid of convenience and puts many doubts over the prospect of the club opening again in the near or distant future, a huge loss for Plymouth and myself. The best club I've played to this time. Let's hope this raid of convenience doesn't see the permanent end to a part of great clubbing history wihch has been a weekly Mecca to clubbers in the area since 1998. To keep upto date on this story via the Dance Academy website www.danceacademy.co.uk.
18/04/2006 // Coolio Live PA Gig Warmup in Newquay Newquay In one of the most bizarre gigs I’ll ever be asked to play. On April 30th Hip Hop star Coolio will be performing at Barracuda in Newquay. I will be playing a brief warmup set before him and an hour set after his performance. Artis Ivey, 1 August 1963, Compton, Los Angeles, California, USA. Boasting a long, though infrequently recorded, career in hip-hop, rapper Coolio's career finally took off after attending rehabilitation classes in an attempt to kick his cocaine habit. Coolio started making music again with WC And The MADD Circle, contributing to their 1991 release, Ain't A Damn Thang Changed (he would also perform on one track on their belated follow-up, 1995's Curb Servin'). He then joined the 40 Thevz, a hip-hop community made up of producers, rappers and dancers who would collaborate with him on all his recordings. Along with his friend DJ Bryan "Wino" Dobbs, Coolio signed to Tommy Boy Records who released the single "County Line" about his experiences on welfare assistance. "Fantastic Voyage", based on Lakeside's 1980 hit, became a Top 5 single, and Coolio's profile was further enhanced by an autumn tour with R&B megastar R. Kelly.
It Takes A Thief was a major seller, going platinum and establishing Coolio at the forefront of mid-90s hip-hop. "Gangsta's Paradise", taken from his sophomore album of the same name, was a resigned lament performed with the gospel singer L.V. and a full choir that sampled Stevie Wonder's "Pastime Paradise". The single, featured in the movie Dangerous Minds, went to number 1 in the US and the UK. In the UK this was the first time anything approaching true "street rap" had achieved such sales. As the music business magazine Music Week commented, "in Britain for such a record to reach number one is quite sensational". The song won a Grammy in 1996 for Best Rap Solo Performance. My Soul, which included the hit single "C U When U Get There", was another downbeat collection that confirmed Coolio as one of hip-hop's most interesting artists. He subsequently set up his own Crowbar label and concentrated on an acting career. Should be a crazy night in Newquay on April 30th! Tickets available from the venue or on the door.
15/03/2006 // Dance Academy / Eyecon Residency Simon Pitt has been made a resident at UK Superclub Dance Academy Simon had his first ever gig at the Plymouth superclub and spent many nights there before his touching the decks for the first time in 2001. Now 5 years later after playing on and off at the club throughout that time Simon accepts and will be performing regular sets throughout the the year. Check the schedule pages for up to the minute info.

11/11/2005 // Dance Academy Trance Allnighter with Judge Jules December 3rd 2005 On December 3rd Simon Pitt will play Dance Academy's huge Trance Allnighter event featuring Judge Jules, Mark Norman, Cor Fijneman, Randy Katana, Adam Sheridan and more. This will be one of the Dance Academy's biggest Trance events to date with a festival size lineup. The best part for me is that this is a Trance only lineup and a strong one at that and while I don't label my style to just Trance as I take many influences from other styles, I can safely say I'll be very much at home on this night at Dance Academy more then any past times I have played there before. Should be an epic night, see you there.
Posted 15/07/2005 // Gatecrasher Classics Tour x 2 Dates Gatecrasher is the official UK superclub of the last 10 years, to celebrate hitting a decade Gatecrasher Classics Tour has been launched, Simon Pitt has been asked to play two dates on this tour at Newquays number one club Barracuda this summer. Expect a complete transformation of the venue including full Gatecrasher Decor, lighting and lasers. Also playing the Gatecrasher Newquay Tour are Guy Ornadel, Agnelli & Nelson, Paul Kershaw, Les Hemstock, Dan Bailey and more. The first large scale rave I went to was the Millenium New Years Eve event held at the Don Valley Stadium in Sheffield by Gatecrasher, with 25,000 strong with the World's best DJs it was a night I will never forget and it makes me extra proud to be involved in this Tour celebrating the history of the UK's most famous clubbing brand!
